Turning a Business Trip into a Holiday

When my husband asked me if I would like to take the family to Queenstown while he attended to some business there, I thought it was the perfect idea. The kids were on break from school, and we were just going to have a quiet time otherwise. He needed to be in QUeenstown for business for nearly two weeks, so it would be great that we would not need to be separated from him for that long. I did a search for Queenstown accommodation because I knew that I did not want to stay in a hotel while there.

A hotel stay for a night is not bad, but I could not picture us living in one for two weeks. We have three children, and we would all get on each other’s nerves before the first week was even over in such a tiny amount of space. I was hoping to find a nice villa or resort, but I found something even better. I found a house in Queenstown that is available for rent for as few as three days or as many as 90. We would only need it for 14 days, and I was so glad when I saw that it was available during the time we would be there.

Not only is it is a nice house, but it is a large one too. Since there were extra bedrooms, I asked both of my sisters if they would like to join us. Only one was able to, and she brought her son with her. Even with the seven of us there, it was more than enough space, and the kids had so much fun. Between the lake, the mountains, and all of the fun things they could do like hiking, boating and bungy jumping, they had more than enough things to keep themselves occupied. The best part was that my husband was able to spend a good bit of time with us too. It was definitely the best business trip he has ever taken!
